Pelvic health physiotherapists treat a range of conditions including urinary and faecal incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, pelvic pain, sexual dysfunction, pre- and postnatal pain and diastasis recti. Pelvic Health Physiotherapists can assits you preparing for birth, the post- partum recovery and returing to exercise. They also help with bowel management including constipation and conditions related to pelvic floor dysfunction.
During your first visit, the physiotherapist will conduct a thorough assessment. This includes discussing your medical history, symptoms, and goals. They may perform a physical examination, which can include checking your posture, pelvic floor muscles, and other related areas. The goal is to develop a personalized treatment plan. The initial appointment lasts 1 hour and you are welcome to bring a support person with you.
